Said to run strong, everything appears complete, and the A/C compressor is notable. Introduced the year before, Ford’s little 260ci V8 was factory rated at 164 HP and 258 lb. The steering wheel wrap almost certainly means a cracked wheel. The original radio is included in the deal, and an auxiliary gauge pod has been added to supplement the factory warning lights. While the 4-speed shifter is clearly the center piece, the interior appears like a good place to spend time, regardless of whether its contrasting green paint and tan upholstery are original. Ford’s rocket themed taillights are definite design highlights. As it’s covered, it looks like the bed floor may be carpeted, making it one of the larger trunks we’ve ever seen. The cover on the bed has an interesting prop rod that might be gas charged, and a closeup of its manufacturer’s plaque suggests it could be a rare period piece. Sheet metal, chrome and paint all appear nice, while dainty looking tires mounted on appropriate steelies with caps are said to be new. Updated through the early 60’s and offered with the usual straight-sixes and automatics, we’re glad the original buyer checked the option boxes for a 260ci V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission. Interestingly, the presence of A/C isn’t mentioned, though an under-dash unit is fitted and a compressor is visible underhood–even it if it’s not currently working, it’s inclusion could be a plus. Black plates are included, and it’s said to be strong running.
